You Want the Hurtline? You Can't Handle the Hurtline!: Marcari, Russotto, Spencer & Balaban -- Don Marcari was the JAG lawyer who was the basis of the Tom Cruise character in A Few Good Men. He does personal injury law here in NC. If your denture cream gave you zinc poisoning, he will pound tables and stare down even the most Jack Nicholson-y of Denture Cream Defense Lawyers on your behalf.

For Baseball Card Loving Bookworms:

Seen at the library this morning. Cool idea. Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are mixed media cards that you make and trade. The only rule is that they be trading card sized.

My Favorite Movies After the 5K Pole: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon looks like a lock to hold the top spot until The Maltese Falcon is added to flickchart's database.

Tangentially, I finally saw The Dark Knight and have to say I was sorely disappointed.  I was going along with it until the end when (I'm assuming everyone has it seen it by now and spoiler alerts are unnecessary)  Gordon and Wayne cooked up the lame and patronizing "Batman must become scapegoat so Dent can remain a hero" scheme.  The idea that the general public can't handle the truth and needs their cherished heroes to be untarnished is so insulting that for the filmmakers to play it out like the characters were making the heroic choice was nauseating.   The ending ruined the whole thing for me.  Bah.

Flickchart - Your Rankings And Charts Of The Top Movies Of All Time: Buggy, but fun. I'm sure it'll get better with time. I also wish I hadn't accidentally clicked on "Happy Gilmore" that one time. Word of advice if you try the site, you may want to click 'haven't seen it' for movies you've seen, but really don't want to be ranking all the time. Unless you really want to spend lots of time ranking crap movies you barely remember against each other.

Obama Endorses Indefinite Detention Without Trial for Some Now at Guantanamo - washingtonpost.com:

"President Obama acknowledged publicly for the first time yesterday that some detainees at Guantanamo Bay may have to be held without trial indefinitely, siding with conservative national security advocates on one of the most contentious issues raised by the closing of the military prison in Cuba."

No. No. No. It was wrong when W. and Cheney were doing it, and it's still wrong. If the detainees did something wrong, prove it. If they're conspiring to do something wrong, prove it. If you can't prove it, that doesn't mean you get to lock them up and throw away the key. In fact, it means the opposite. I thought Obama got it and this was all understood. This is discouraging.

Nothing like the chilling tale of loose nukes to scare the poop out of a fella. If we can't keep track of ours, I wonder how many Russian nukes are lost? And how Pakistani nukes soon will be? Any way to squeeze that genie back in the bottle?

Foodies flock to Twitter-savvy food trucks: Sure, the tech-marketing angle is vaguely interesting -- we can imagine dollar signs ringing up in the eyes of the entrepreneurial sorts -- but it's the idea of Korean-Mexican fusion BBQ served from a truck that intrigues me.

Blake is fascinated by statues; I expect to hear a great deal about how, "Woof-Dog statue is not moving!" the days we are out there. And, more than likely, for a long time after.

Wanda v. Rush: Back on the desktop now after watching the President and Wanda Sykes give their speeches. Funny stuff but, oh man, is the right wing going to go apeshit -- particularly over Sykes's crack about Rush being one of the 9/11 hijackers, but missing the flight because he was strung out on oxycontin at the time.

Obama is doing a nice job at the Correspondents dinner. He just told Michael Steele that the GOP doesn't qualify for a bailout and that Rush doesn't count as a troubled asset. I can't type fast enough on the BB to keep up but he's been on a roll the whole time I've been typing.

'Dollhouse' exclusive: Alpha breaks his silence! | Dollhouse | Ausiello Files | EW.com: Dollhouse was excellent again last night. Although, the whole Echo subplot felt a little forced (don't think too hard about the why and how of it) but thematically it tied in nicely.
Big Spoiler Alert -- stop here if you DVR'd and - like me - didn't already know the casting surprise. Tudyk (Wash!) was outstanding as undercover Alpha. I'm not really a fan of Dushku and frankly wish Tudyk were the series lead. I don't suppose there's any chance the series finale could kill off Echo or free Caroline and we could have a new lead if/when renewal happens?
